From 3 to 28 October a Border Management Staff Course was conducted at the BMSC. Participants from 15 countries attended the one month course. To date, 394 commanders and managers of captain to colonel rank, or civilian equivalent from the OSCE participating States and Partners for Co-operation have successfully completed the programme. The Staff Course, usually for 25 participants, is one of the core offerings of the College. It is composed of seven overarching modules that reflect the OSCE’s comprehensive approach to effective border security and management. It also included a research component within which participants developed their research papers focusing on science, technology and border security; global human trafficking trends and issues; transnational threats; and countering terrorism financing.
