Summary

From 4 to 5 November the Mission to Serbia, in co-operation with the Transnational Threats Department of the OSCE Secretariat, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), organised a two-day conference on cross-border co-operation on migration-related crimes. The purpose of this event was to strengthen co-operation between regional law enforcement agencies and other relevant actors from south-east Europe in tackling organized crime networks involved in the smuggling of migrants.

During the conference, policy-makers and practitioners from law enforcement agencies discussed challenges and good practices in their daily work. This activity is part of the Mission’s efforts to promote cross-border inter-agency co-operation to combat transnational, organized and other forms of serious crime.
