On 23 December, nineteen Afghan border police officers completed a four-week patrolling and leadership course jointly organized by the Office in Tajikistan and the BOMNAF programme. The course was held in Gissar, 25 km outside of Dushanbe.
The trainees learned how to plan and conduct observation missions through the use of topographical maps, satellite imagery, how to develop patrol planning as well as observation techniques, reporting and analysis skills, mountaineering and first aid in the field. During the training each student received a uniform and tactical equipment. Two Tajik Border Troop officers provided training support.
