Mission in Skopje organises a training on operational crime intelligence analysis and expert assessment of the criminal intelligence analysis database (iBase)

Description

This training was organised by the OSCE Mission in Skopje in co-operation with the Turkish International Academy against Drugs and Organised Crime (TADOC) with the aim to enable law enforcement officials to effectively analyse data related to crime and intelligence.

Summary

In 2011, TD organised two trainings on Criminal Intelligence Analysis for capacity building of the CSOSC’s Department for Crime Intelligence Analysis and Department for Crime Intelligence in cooperation with TADOC. The purpose of the training was to increase the knowledge and practical skills of CSOSC staff in developing an investigation database based on IBase platform for the needs of investigations and analysis.

The advanced training on Operational Crime Intelligence Analysis was held from 26 November to 7 December for 21 participants, who attended the basic trainings last year.

During the training, delivered by three TADOC experts, participants enhanced their skills and learned new techniques for effective crime data analysis and creation of accurate intelligence products such as strategic assessments, tactical assessments, target profiles and problem profiles.

In the same time the Turkish experts evaluated and improved the operability of the investigation database created by the course participants in 2011.
