This training course, aiming to increase the capacities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’s Unit for Special Tasks in combating terrorism, as well as in organised and serious crime, was jointly organised by the OSCE Mission to Skopje and the French Embassy in Skopje.

Summary

The training course for special police forces on hostage rescue operations took place in Skopje from 10 to 14 June 2013. Two experts from the French Police conducted the training, which was attended by 22 officers of the Special Tasks Unit, on how to deal with rescue situations in different types of locations and what to do to intercept vehicles used by armed criminals.

This advanced training is the fourth jointly organised in 2013 by the OSCE Mission to Skopje and the French Embassy in Skopje for the Interior Ministry’s Special Units Department. The overall goal of the course is to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry in the fight against terrorism and organised crime.
