Summary

On 27 November the Mission to Serbia, together with the Zrenjanin Police District, finalized the fivemonth community policing project “Alcohol 0% - Fun 100% - it is possible, try it!”.

The project, which aimed at increasing awareness among high school students on the detrimental effects of alcohol consumption, comprised: an educational workshop for secondary school pupils from nine schools for a total of approximately 850 students; two street events; and an educational 45-minute TV show featuring representatives of the Zrenjanin police and local self-government.

Through the aforementioned activities, the project reached 15,000 citizens. This initiative is part of the Mission’s wider efforts to strengthen an effective and accountable relationship between the community and the police service through the implementation of the community policing concept.
