Mission to Kosovo organized a meeting to support community safety initiatives

Summary

On 27 November, the Mission to Kosovo organized the fifteenth Local Public Safety Committees (LPSC) executive council meeting, held under the framework of the joint OSCE-Royal Norwegian Embassy project to support community safety initiatives through LPSCs. The meeting was facilitated by the members of two LPSCs from Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje municipality and specifically focused on the achievements during the implementation of the project’s third phase.

The LPSC members presented their implemented initiatives for the purpose of sharing best practices in regard to addressing community safety and security related concerns; whereas the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Kosovo Police and international organizations provided updates on their contribution in this line of work. Additionally, sixteen best implemented LPSC initiatives were awarded with certificates of appreciation during the event. Around 100 participants attended the meeting, which among others included the Minister of Internal Affairs, Deputy Head of OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Norwegian Ambassador, senior police representatives and members of 52 LPSCs.
