The conference discussed the issues related to fighting against corruption within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, different approaches of preventing corruption versus repression, corruption investigation, main principles of the control and practices related to internal oversight within police, — with a view to identify possible solutions to the problems.
The two-day regional conference brought together 50 participants, representing the Ministry of Internal Affairs, delegations from 8 countries of the region and relevant international organizations.

The Delegates shared their experiences and best practice during presentations and speeches which gave the Host Country and its regional neighbors the chance to examine the overall situation in the Balkans region. It was agreed that a further meeting would be held in 2011 to discuss concrete activities to tackle corruption within the Host Country and increase better cross border cooperation on the subject.
