Description

In December 2010, the Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT) held its fourth biennial international Conference in Sydney, Australia, on the topic of “Global Child Protection in Tomorrow's Virtual World”.

Summary

The VGT is an international collaboration of law enforcement agencies, working to actively combat and investigate online sexual exploitation of children.

In addition to international law enforcement, Non-Government Organisations, Internet Service Providers, academia and industry partners converged on Sydney for the Conference. It provided an excellent opportunity for the VGT to collectively forge strategic outcomes as part of this global effort, and provided agencies a forum to engage and foster new and existing networks. Combating online child sex exploitation is a global effort involving the commitment of all relevant agencies, not just law enforcement.

The Conference was hosted by the AFP in conjunction with the VGT Board of Management.
