Summary

This event was part of a series of regional workshops aiming at disseminating the principles of the Guidebook on Democratic Policing. The Guidebook was produced by the OSCE Strategic Police Matters Unit (SPMU), with the participation of police experts from the entire OSCE region.

The broad objective of the workshop was to identify concrete steps to “operationalize” the good law enforcement practices referred to in the Guidebook on Democratic Policing, into daily police work. This objective was to be achieved through expert discussions and the exchange of experiences.

The event brought together experts from police agencies, ministries of internal affairs, and civil society organizations from South Eastern Europe. The presentations and discussions focused on important issues related to the police organization and management, contained in Chapter V of the GDP.
