The meeting organised by CARICC and UNODC aiming to promote exchange of information and coordination of efforts of the competent agencies of the countries in planning and conducting joint investigations and multilateral operations and utilization of CARICC coordination capacities

Summary

The meeting was organised with the support of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Heads of the operative divisions of the competent authorities of the CARICC member-states, representatives of observer-states at CARICC, other interested countries and international organizations were invited to participate in the meeting.

The aim of the meeting was to present to the participants practical examples of dismantling activities of trans-national criminal groups involved in illicit drug trafficking and to discus proposals on:

  • using CARICC capacities in coordinating efforts of competent authorities in countering illicit drugs trafficking at regional and international level; 
  • identifying targets among trans-national criminal groups involved in illicit drug trafficking for further joint investigations,
  • considering initiation of joint investigations and operations, including controlled deliveries.
