Kosovo and Albania police draft joint serious and organized crime threat assessment

Summary

From 3 to 6 April the Mission in Kosovo facilitated a workshop to enhance the operational criminal intelligence of the Kosovo Police and Albanian State Police. The workshop was funded by the Geneva Centre or Democratic Control of Armed Forces. During the workshop, intelligence analysts of both police services identified joint threats and priorities covering corruption, narcotics, violent extremism, cybercrime, and other serious and organized crimes. The workshop resulted in producing the first draft of a joint Serious and Organized Crime Threat Assessment (SOCTA) report, which is intended to strengthen the co-operation on joint police activities and operations. The General Director of the Kosovo Police approved the report on 1 April, and the Albanian State Police is in the process of finalizing their version of the document.
