Summary

From 1 to 5 February, the Office and the Border Management Staff College (BMSC) conducted a workshop on border security and terrorism. Twenty-five participants from the ministries of foreign and interior affairs, State Committee of National Security, Border Troops and Customs Service discussed issues of terrorism and oversight of terrorist networks, terrorist attacks and crisis management, procedures for data collection and risk analysis, co-ordination and co-operation in this area.

The workshop also included a table-top exercise based on a fictitious scenario of a terrorist attack at Dushanbe International Airport and co-operation among law enforcement agencies. The objectives of the workshop were delivered by two international experts from the Turkish National Police.
