Summary

The Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) organized a training-of-trainers session on investigating wartime sexual violence for 18 in-service police officers from the RS, FBiH and Brčko District and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).

The pool of officials had been selected based on their experience and performance in trainings organized previously by the Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Following the training-of-trainers course during the reporting period, the newly certified trainers held their first workshops for a group of 15 police inspectors/investigators (from SIPA, RS, FBiH and Brčko District) without prior training experience on the topic of wartime sexual violence.

As a quality control mechanism, the training was fully monitored by international and national experts who assessed the sessions as fully adequate and appropriate. Based on the results, the new trainers will instruct approximately 50 police inspectors/investigators at the RS and FBiH Police Academies as well as at SIPA headquarters in November and December.
