Centre in Ashgabat launched a border patrol training on the Turkmen-Afghan border

Summary

On 25 August, the training courses within the framework of the project “Strengthening Border Guard Capacities in Turkmenistan” commenced.

Phase 1 of the training is scheduled for seven weeks and consists of courses on patrolling, surveillance and other border security methods and techniques, as well as first aid and medical skills.

The training is facilitated by two international experts and conducted for 22 border service officers with the goal of providing them with knowledge and skills at the instructor- and team leader-level in tactical patrolling.

Phase 1 of the training is being held in Lebap province at Imamnazar border crossing point to Afghanistan’s Faryab and Jowzyan provinces, near to the town of Andkhoy. Phase 1 also foresees the participation of eight Afghanistan Border Police officials in a two-week executive course.
