Summary

On 31 October, the Presence in Albania organized a workshop on intelligence-led policing and a national intelligence model for senior border police officials and high level representatives from the Regional Border Police Directorate, the Customs’ Administration and the Customs’ Investigation Directorate.

In addition, representatives from Crown Agents, the external consultants working with the Albanian Ministry of Finance to support development of the country's Customs Administration, participated.

The purpose of the workshop, the last in a series conducted all over the country, was to promote international standards relevant to developing a national intelligence model and to identify problems related to its implementation.

Problems identified by the attendees and related discussions will form the basis of a set of recommendations which will be presented to the General Director of the Albanian State Police to inform the improvement of the transfer, input and dissemination of intelligence reports.
