High Level Regional Meeting on Law Enforcement Co-operation in Central Asia in Combating Organised Crime

This event provided an opportunity for the leading experts to review the existing co-operation mechanisms, to discuss existing problems, to propose ways of enhancing of regional interaction and effective implementation of UN Convention on Transnational Organised Crime (UNTOC).

Summary

This Conference was organised by the OSCE Strategic Police Matters Unit (SPMU) in co-operation with OSCE Centre in Astana and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Kazakhstan with financial support from Norway and Belgium.

It was planned to discuss at this meeting possible measures aimed on enhancing of regional law enforcement co-operation in Central Asia in the sphere of fighting organised crimes including trafficking in drugs and human beings.

The event brought together experts from ministries of Interior, ministries of Justice, law enforcement agencies and policy makers.
