Summary

Forty police officers completed a training programme on diversity, hate crimes and domestic violence on 23 March in Tirana. The training aimed to provide the police with the appropriate tools to act professionally and gain the trust and support of citizens.

This is the third year that the Presence in Albania has delivered a training course in this field. According to the police, results have started to show, with more people filing police reports on incidents and being offered police protection. The Presence In Albania will continue delivering the training course throughout 2015, thanks to financial support provided by the Government of the Netherlands. The training will be held in different regions of Albania; a total of 120 police officers will take part.
