Summary

On 29 September, the Mission in Kosovo supported the members of Rahovec/Orahovac Local Public Safety Committee  in organizing a workshop for drafting a 2015-2020 work plan, specifically focusing on actions for decreasing risks created by stray dogs.

This activity was conducted as part of the project to support community safety initiatives funded by the Norwegian Embassy, and hosted around 30 participants consisting of representatives from the respective municipality, Kosovo Police, civil society organizations, youth representatives and local media.

Prior to this workshop, the respective Committee organized awareness raising meetings with the local community, and through Mission’s support, the sterilization and vaccination of stray dogs will commence as a pilot activity in October 2015.
