Summary

As part of its project to enhance the capacities of the Kosovo Police in combating high level corruption, funded by the German government, the Mission in Kosovo concluded the three week training package on financial crime investigation, which consisted of three courses covering tendering and procurement regulations, money laundering, privatization and bankruptcy, forensic accounting and tax related challenges in Kosovo. From 7 to 11 September, the Mission in Kosovo delivered training on procurement procedures and e-procurement, privatisation, liquidation procedures and the role of IT forensics in investigation to 12 participants from the Kosovo Police Special Anti-Corruption Task Force, Special Prosecution Office and Financial Intelligence Unit in Prishtinë/Priština. In line with its goal, the participants of this training mainly learned about the international and local practices in utilizing investigation techniques on cases dealing with money laundering, procurement and tendering, as well as how to practically build a case file covering all stages of investigation.
