Summary

At the request of the Office of the Prime Minister, the Mission in Kosovo facilitated a workshop on drafting the Kosovo Strategy and Action Plan on Preventing Violent Extremism and Radicalization that Leads to Terrorism (VERLT), which was held from 8 to 11 August in Tirana, Albania. The working group was chaired by the Office of the Prime Minister with other members representing the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kosovo Police, Kosovo Islamic community, the European Union Office in Kosovo, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Mission in Kosovo and more. During the workshop, the working group members examined the content of the entire draft Strategy and provided comments and remarks that were taken for consideration by the chairperson. Pending the finalization of the draft strategy and action plan, the Mission in Kosovo will host an additional planned workshop where the strategy and action plan will be presented to a wider group for further elaboration.
