Description

This workshop aimed to assist the Conference of the Parties to the United National Convention against Transnational Organised Crime in implementation of the Convention and its Protocols.

Summary

The main objective of the workshop was to study modalities for effective legal co-operation in the field of extradition and mutual legal assistance, particularly in freezing/confiscation of instrumentalities and proceeds of crime, covered by the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organised Crime. The workshop also aimed at establishing informal links among law-enforcement and judicial personnel of the participating countries, as well as contributing to the improvement of domestic laws and implementing practices in order to bring them in compliance with the provisions of the aforementioned United Nations Conventions.
