Summary

On 27 March the Mission hosted the first official meeting of the BiH Council of Ministers’ (BiH CoM) Monitoring Body for the Implementation of the Strategy for the Prevention and Fight against Terrorism (2015-2020). Of crucial importance for the Mission, the event included representatives not only from the authorities, but also civil society, allowing for a holistic approach to be taken in monitoring and addressing this threat. Emphasizing this in his opening remarks, the Head of Mission recognized the importance of including all sections of society, including education institutions, social workers, religious communities, civil society organizations and local politicians in curbing the drivers behind violent extremism and terrorism. The importance of involving youth - the category most vulnerable to radicalization and, at the same time, the group best placed to counter this phenomenon - was also underlined
