Regional police investigators discuss challenges in countering transnational crime

Summary

On 25 and 26 January, the Mission to Ukraine, together with the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) of the United States Embassy, organised a roundtable for regional senior law enforcement officers on transnational crime and smuggling investigations. The purpose of the meeting was to share experiences and best practices, as well as to propose improvements to the existing system of addressing transnationals crime. The event gathered 11 senior law enforcement officers and organised crime investigators from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. This initiative is part of the Mission’s wider efforts to strengthen regional co-operation in combatting organized crime.
