Summary

On 26 April, the Office completed the delivery of a two-week search and rescue training in the mountainous area of Khoja Obi Garm (ca. 50km north of Dushanbe). Nineteen Border Police Officers from the Afghanistan, mainly coming from the border posts in the Afghan/Tajik border, attended the course. Participants learned about border surveillance and patrolling in mountainous areas in winter conditions, and rapid assessment of avalanche conditions in the patrolling area, usage of avalanche transceiver and other winter equipment for patrolling.
