Mission in Kosovo assisted a police research visit on diversity and gender representation

Summary

From 23 to 25 May, the Mission in Kosovo supported and accompanied three members of the established working group on diversity and gender representation within the Kosovo Police, to conduct a research visit in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The visit aimed to assist the officers in identification and understanding of how the Slovenian police service has addressed issues related to gender representation and diversity. Police representatives managed to conduct several interviews with their Slovenian police counterparts in order to obtain their experience on the process and challenges encountered in ensuring successful equality in their service. Supported by the Mission, this activity is part of an overall research planned by the Kosovo Police in their Human Resources Strategy 2016-2020, which aims to improve the overall gender equality and diversity within the organisation.
