From 17 to 22 April, the concluding module of a train-the-trainers course for instructors of the Central Asia border institutes was delivered by the BMSC at the State Border Guard College of Latvia in Rezekne. Course participants attended training sessions conducted by the instructors of the Latvian Border Guard College and analysed and assessed the performance of experts, methodologies of training sessions and technical equipment used. As part of the practical exercises the participants delivered training sessions for the cadets of the Latvian Border Guard College. This is when the knowledge received and the skills obtained throughout the course were applied in practice.
At the end of the course participants defended their course works on topics related to the development and implementation of a competency-based approach in the border security education system. The six-month blended learning educational initiative was organized and delivered in close co-operation with the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, the Office and the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF).
