On 8 June the OSCE Mission to Serbia provided training on basic gender mainstreaming skills and the role of the Gender Equality Council for the new members of this body in Novi Pazar. The objective of the training was to assist the participants in gaining more comprehensive knowledge of the gender mainstreaming policies and the role of a gender equality council. A total of eleven participants agreed to actively promote the inclusion of gender equality principles in local policies and explore various ways of supporting women’s entrepreneurship in Novi Pazar. They also agreed to organise a follow-up training in producing a gender-responsive municipal budget. This activity is part of the Mission’s wider efforts to mainstream gender equality in practice.
