Summary

On 27-28 June, the OSCE Programme Office in Astana in partnership with the Law Enforcement Academy under the Prosecutor General’s Office co-organised a two-day seminar on best practices in combating corruption for some 30 prosecutors from across the country.

An expert, supported by the Office, familiarized the attorneys with best international experience on identifying corruption risks in the OSCE region and provided analysis of Kazakhstan’s anti-corruption legislation. The training modules covered international anti-corruption conventions, key international organisations combating corruption, risk-based approaches, international anti-corruption ratings, international co-operation and mutual legal assistance on anti-corruption. The participants also reviewed the practices of anti-corruption investigations and discussed further challenges in applying OSCE best practices in the host country.
