Summary

Over the course of 2017, the Presence trained 240 child-protection workers, police officers and social services officials on the various legislative aspects and proactive actions that can help identify trafficked and exploited children. The Presence also helped team up municipalities with private vocational training providers, enabling scholarships and training for 32 children-at-risk and victims of trafficking.

Enhancing the prosecution and conviction of child trafficking offences are a key priority for the Presence. Adapting to recent legislation changes, it is drafting a commentary with judges and prosecutors as a target audience, to be followed by training sessions for local-level law-enforcement officers.
