From 14 to 23 June, the Programme Office conducted, jointly with two representatives of the Ministry of Interior (MoI), a second monitoring of the Mobile Police Receptions (MPRs) operation.
The group visited 17 territorial police departments, aiming to assess the effectiveness of the MPR activities, as well as discuss and address issues affecting their operation. The monitoring visit revealed, among other things, that considerable improvement was achieved by police in raising awareness of the general public on MPR activities through local media outlets.
Members of local administration are actively involved, along with police, in MPR visits to communities and in following up on the raised issues. It has also been noticed that police units using MPRs have to further improve their reporting on the authorities’ responses to the issue raised by the visited communities.
