Summary

From 17 to 30 June, the Programme Office supported the Ministry of the Interior in organising training workshops in the Naryn, Issyk-Kul, Chui and Talas provinces for local communities, targeting young men and women to improve their knowledge of VERLT. There were a total of 2,870 participants, of whom 800 were young people and students, including representatives of local authorities, educational, social and medical institutions, as well as law enforcement agencies. Four prominent experts of the MoI conducted the training workshops devoted to raising awareness of VERLT.

From 1 to 22 July, the POiB supported the MoI in organizing training workshops for youth in Osh, Batken and Jalal-Abad provinces to improve their knowledge of pertinent VERLT issues in the region. There were a total of 1,804 participants, including young people and students, of which almost half were women and girls; representatives from local authorities, and educational, social and medical institutions; as well as law enforcement agencies. Four experts specializing in VERLT-related issues, such as early-warning, manifestations of VERLT, and prevention methods, from the Ministry of the Interior conducted the training workshops.
