This protocol between the General Secretariat of Government of Montenegro and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Albania aims, inter alia, to intensify mutual efforts in combating trafficking in persons, information sharing and mutual assistance regarding the identification, referral, protection as well as assisted return of (potential) victims of trafficking.
The Protocol shall aim to enhance cooperation between the Responsible Authorities of the Parties, with the purpose to:
a) Intensify mutual efforts to combat trafficking in persons, adults and minors/children in response to the new needs and tendencies of this phenomenon;
b) Intensify information sharing, cooperation, as well as mutual assistance regarding the identification, referral, protection as well as assisted return of victims/potential victims of trafficking,
c) Exchange positive experiences and, unify practices, procedures, and work methodology in the fight against all aspects of trafficking in persons, in all aspects, as per identification, referral, assisted voluntary return, and protection of victims/potential victims of trafficking in accordance with national legislation;
d) Appoint contact persons in the respective Responsible Authorities as outlined by this Protocol, to administer and monitor the cooperation in the ways set forth in Article 4 of this Protocol, and, when necessary, to assist in resolving specific cases or issues.
