Summary

The International Forum on Contemporary Police Management Training Systems was specifically designed to review experiences and good practices Slovenia, Sweden, Hungary and UK have undergone in the process of restructuring of their police management training systems and provide platform for productive discussions among Serbian Ministry of the Interior decision makers.

The forum concentrated on the following two dimensions:

  • Concept of police management system (organisational context, legal background, ranking system, promotion),
  • Concept of training system for police managers (legal framework, needs analysis, training design and development, training implementation and evaluation).

More than 50 Serbian senior police officers discussed the latest trends in senior police leadership training at an OSCE-supported forum on police management training systems. Presenters from Slovenia, Sweden, Hungary and the United Kingdom introduced and discussed various models of training and professional development for police managers.
