On 13 and 14 November, the PCUz, jointly with the Strategic Police Matters Unit of the OSCE Transnational Threat Department (TNTD), organized in Tashkent a regional workshop on countering illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs for representatives of law enforcement agencies.
The meeting was organized by the Italian OSCE Chairmanship and the OSCE Transnational Threats Department/Border Security and Management Unit (TNTD/BSMU), in Vienna, Austria. The event focused on the conclusions of previous Annual Meetings and is in line with the 2018 Italian OSCE Chairmanship’s priorities.
The meeting, organised by the Italian OSCE Chairmanship and the OSCE Transnational Threats Department/Border Security and Management Unit (TNTD/BSMU), aims at providing the NFPs with an opportunity to discuss emerging threats, risks, and available cross-border co-operation mechanisms to address them with consideration to the OSCE current and planned activities in the area of border security and management (BSM).
The 14-minute short film was developed to enhance the capacities of involved border agencies in investigating grand corruption in a cross-border context. The video dramatizes the pitfalls of corruption.
This event, organized by the TNTD/Border Security Management Unit, provided the opportunity to discuss the importance of confidence building activities among the relevant border security and management services and to encourage better co-operation.
The regional threat assessment was made as part of a regional project aimed at enhancing capacities for strategic analysis and strategic assessments in the Serbian, Montenegrin and Macedonian Ministries of the Interior and was implemented by the OSCE Mission to Serbia. International partners included DCAF and Europol.
