Summary

From 18 February to 15 March, the Programme Office in Dushanbe organised the third out of seven training courses for the ExB project PFCB at the Khalkayor Regional Training Centre, adjacent to the Afghan border. Twenty-five Tajik border officers (all men) from the Special Border Units were trained on topography, first aid, tactical patrolling (including individual and group camouflage techniques), radio communications, risk assessment, pathfinding and survival techniques.

The course was delivered by five Tajik Border Officers, former graduates of the Patrol Programming and Leadership Project 2008-2017, who now serve as instructors within the framework of the Office’s objective to increase national ownership in capacity-building efforts. The Special Border Units will be deployed to the Tajik-Afghan border.
