Summary

All organisations, no matter which size, need to invest time and money in their staff. This can be done in many ways, but training is an essential part of your staff development. Many organisations are planning a budget and resources for training, but in order to make sure that this investment will bring the best results, you need to plan your training. If you want to achieve your objectives, you need to identify your priorities and develop a training that will correspond to these priorities.

This could seem like an easy task to perform, but in fact, identifying training needs can be difficult to distinguish. For example, when employees have been working for the organisations for a long time and they are working very well, you will need to analyze their performance and you could discover area where they could improve themselves or where their full potential has not been reached.

This lesson is designed to assist participants to understand how a Training Needs Assessment can be performed and how the resulting information can be turned into a course of instruction that will meet the training and developmental needs of both the Organisation and the Individual.

The goal of this lesson is to enable participants to prepare a plan for the identification and prioritisation of current and future training needs by the analysis of data obtained through the effective selection of information gathered in a variety of techniques and ways.
