The conference will focus on the national experiences and international co-operation in countering terrorism, engaging and empowering youth in preventing and countering violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism and rehabilitation, reintegration and the prevention of radicalization that lead to terrorism.
This regional workshop aimed to explore and discuss ways to identify and improve co-operation among the national stakeholders in the Central Asia region, not only in the prevention and investigation of terrorism, but also on how to better co-ordinate efforts in case an attack has been perpetrated.
This workshop will contribute to enhancing the criminal justice system co-operation between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in fighting terrorism and organized crime through discussions of direct law enforcement co-operation, mutual legal assistance and inter-agency co-operation mechanisms between law enforcement, prosecutorial and central authorities for the investigation of trans-border organized crime and terrorism cases.

This workshop, organized by the Secretariat's Transnational Threats Department and the OSCE Office in Tajikistan in consultation with the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (UNCTED) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), aims to provide a platform for a first regional exchange of views and experiences with regard to the threat of foreign terrorist fighters in Central Asia.
