Election security training for Police

Description

This one day long training is developed by the Police Development Department, Education Support Division of the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje for the elections in 2006.

Summary

The purpose of this training is to provide the participants with an overview of those issues of the role of the Police and the security issues during the pre-election period, on the Election Day and after the vote. 

At the conclusion of this training, the participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the roles and responsibilities of the Police in a democratic election process in terms of expected behaviour.
  2. Outline the threats to safety and security Police may encounter during the preelection period.
  3. Provide an outline of the key players of the election process and their areas of responsibility.
  4. Demonstrate Police actions on Election Day in accordance to the Electoral code.
  5. Evaluate post-voting threats to safety in accordance with the Electoral and Criminal Code.
