Training workshop on surveillance techniques for law enforcement personnel involved in controlled delivery

Description

During this training workshop the participants will learn the skills necessary to conduct surveillance in support of law enforcement during controlled delivery operations.

Summary

Controlled deliveries, under which illicit narcotic or psychotropic substances and their precursors may pass through a number of countries under the supervision of authorities is a useful tool to identify the scope of such operation and its perpetrators.

However, organising such an operation is highly complex task for law enforcement organizations. One of the crucial aspects of this operation is a physical surveillance of persons and goods under control. Loss of these targets may have a number of negative consequences for law enforcement organizations involved in local or international controlled delivery operation. Properly planned and executed surveillance missions greatly increase a probability of success of follow-on missions conducted against the target.

In this regard, the Strategic Police Matters Unit (SPMU) organised a training workshop on surveillance techniques for law enforcement personnel involved in controlled delivery.
