From 16 to 19 January the Presence, in close co-operation with Police Assistance Mission of the European Commission to Albania (PAMECA) IV and the General Directorate of Border and Migration Police, organised an evaluation and training on the implementation of Schengen procedures for the Albanian Border and Migration Police. Initially the international short-term expert updated the Albanian border experts on the Schengen code provisions and then visited four pre-selected border crossing points to closely monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Schengen procedures. The border crossing points assessed were Han i Hotit, Muriqan, Rinas Airport, and Vlora Port. The training and evaluation will be finalized with the presentation of the findings and recommendations.
