Lesson 23: Basic management skills – Monitoring resources

The goal of this lesson is to provide Police Inspectorate staff with an introduction to the theory and practice of monitoring resources in a management setting and the need for this skill within PIK.

When you have completed this Lesson you will be able to:

1. Describe the key elements of an effective business
2. Explain what is meant by the term Monitoring Resources
3. List six key factors which need to be monitored on a regular basis
4. Carry out efficient resource monitoring and, if and when problems are identified, take appropriate corrective action
