Summary

The goal of this lesson is to provide Police Inspectorate staff with an introduction to the theory and practice of project management skills and the need for this skill within PIK.

When you have completed this Lesson you will be able to:

  1. Define the key elements of A Project
  2. List the key skills needed by a successful project manager
  3. Describe the Three Stage-Project Cycle
  4. Explain why it is important to identify and rank a project’s Critical Factors
  5. Create a Gantt Chart to show a project’s key dates/milestones
  6. Use the SWOT Analysis Technique to identify project strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
  7. Create an Ishikawa Fishbone Diagram to identify the possible causes of a project’s problems
  8. Use Critical Path Analysis to identify project tasks and the order in which these should be completed
