Summary

The effective management of Command Centers takes inter-personnel skills, structure and processes that need to work together. That is more complicated the larger the scale of the incident. Add to this multi-agency involvement and complexity begins to follow.

In any incident the ultimate aim is to resolve the situation with the minimum impact on citizens and services e.g. disruption through movement of people, traffic diversions and local businesses as well as in the event of casualties to ensure they receive the medical services they need as soon as possible.

To achieve any, or all, of these in the right order, properly managed in a joined up approach will take considerable The type of incident that occur, be that police specific and in isolation.
