Centre in Ashgabat held border patrol trainings

Summary

On 24 September the Centre completed series of four ‘three-week’ trainings for 74 officers from the Turkmen Border Guards Service. Two trainers from the UK, one from Estonia and one from Poland finalised advanced training on patrolling and on training of trainers (ToT), which started on 6 June. The training sessions were comprised of field and in-class exercises, including five-day motorcycle training on border patrolling. In the framework of the same project, on 26-30 September, in co-ordination with the UNDP-implemented Border Management Northern Afghanistan (BOMNAF) project, the Centre organized an Executive General Patrol course for border police officers from Afghanistan. Thirteen middle-rank border police officers from the northern border of Afghanistan were trained on analysing information, observation and communication skills as well as human rights issues, including gender awareness.
