Mission in Montenegro conducted capacity building training for the enforcement of laws on seized and confiscated assets in Montenegro

Summary

On 29 and 30 April, the Mission supported the Property Directorate’s Department for Management of Seized and Confiscated Assets by providing specialised capacity building training on enforcement of relevant legislation, which was led by experts from Croatia.

The training provided ten employees of the Directorate and Ministry of Justice with practical guidance on five key areas – procedures for the seizure of movable and immovable property, banking and governmental financial accounts, management of seized commercial enterprises, role of the Interim Administrator and issues related to staff working in seized enterprises.

The training was part of the Mission’s assistance to improve professional capacity of the Property Directorate in their everyday work in fighting organized crime and corruption.
