This report, produced by the SPMU, provides an overview of the sessions as well as conclusions of the regional workshop.
More than 60 counter terrorism law enforcement experts from 14 countries and six international and regional organisations convened in the Radisson SAS Hotel Tashkent, Uzbekistan, for a two-day workshop to explore the ways to improve operational inter-agency co-operation at national and regional level among the main stakeholders tasked to combat terrorism in the Central Asia region.
Discussions focused on how to better share information and intelligence-based products, the roles of law enforcement agencies in the criminal process, prosecution and penitentiary; roles and responsibilities in emergency situations (after a terrorist attack) and the role of police and public partnerships in the prevention of terrorism.
