Summary

The purpose of these notes is to remind you of the teaching/learning aids that you have used and perhaps introduce you to some that you may not have used. As you are aware, by using teaching/learning aids in a systematic and thoughtful way, you can maximize your participants' understanding and retention of your training content. By effectively using learning aids, you can significantly increase their understanding and retention through multi-sensory learning.

The Aim of this Unit is to provide participants with an understanding of how by the use of appropriate learning aids, they can maximise the learning and retention by students of the training content.
Objectives

At the end of this lesson you will be able to:

  1. Define Learning Aid
  2. List the ways in which learning aids can improve a training session
  3. List the requirements for effective learning aids
  4. List the ten learning aids discussed in class
  5. Explain the uses of at least three learning aids discussed in class
  6. Explain the advantages and disadvantages of three learning aids
  7. Select appropriate learning aids for a sequenced set of linked learning objectives
