This report, produced by the SPMU, contains a brief summary and conclusions and recommendations of the three modules of the workshop that took place on 20-22 July 2010 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
These guidelines are based on international human rights instruments and look at the protection of trafficked children from their identification up to their recovery and integration.
The objective of the convention is to protect children against and prevent sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children, protecting child victims of sexual offences and prosecuting perpetrators.
The Convention prescribes procedures for combating international traffic for the purpose of prostitution, including extradition of offenders. It also prohibits the running of brothels and renting accommodation for prostitution purposes.
